Report: Zlatan Ibrahimovic just stopped AC Milan from trying to sign ‘massive’ Chelsea player this summer

Reports have claimed that AC Milan club legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic has just stopped them making a move to sign one player from Chelsea.

According to TeamTALK, the Swede blocked the side he advised for from looking to complete a deal at the end of the season for a Blue who started for them this weekend.

Chelsea are well aware that they need to sell big this summer if they are going to continue with their lavish spending methods.

However, some of the players are actually running contract, and will be free agents come this summer.

One of those is Thiago Silva, who may well have already played his last game for the club.

The Brazilian was forced off with an injury at Villa Park over the weekend, with him potentially now out for the rest of the season.

This is a real blow to a Chelsea side who cannot boast large amounts of experience.

It was expected that Silva would be on the move at the end of the season, with no talk over a potential new contract.

However, it was thought that he’d be returning to Brazil and not another side in Europe.

Recent reports however have claimed that former side Milan have registered interest in a deal, although former teammate Ibrahimovic has said no to any deal.

The Serie A side have benefited recently from a number of signings directly made from Chelsea.

They brought in both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic from the subs bench at Stamford Bridge, with both now being crucial players in Italy.

Wherever Silva ends up, Chelsea will need to replace his experience in the best way possible, as well as of course signing a new central defender to feature in the role from next season.

Trevoh Chalobah, who also started at the weekend, is expected to leave this summer too.
