'He's left the building': Alan Pardew says key West Ham player clearly wants to leave

Alan Pardew has suggested that one West Ham United player looks like he doesn’t want to be at the club anymore.

Ex West Ham boss Alan Pardew has just delivered his verdict on the current goings on at the London Stadium.

Hammers boss David Moyes is under real pressure right now, and the general consensus is that he will be moved on at the end of the season.

Pardew recently suggested that the West Ham owners should offer the Scot a new contract, after the job he has done at the London Stadium.

“West Ham are seventh. They are 1-0 down, right, in the European game, and I think they will turn them over on Thursday actually. He is above De Zerbi, Poch, Silva, Thomas Frank, everyone is going, ‘Oh, they are lovely, how they play’. There they are sitting seventh, West Ham, and above them are Man United, Tottenham, okay Aston Villa, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal. That is probably them top of the league. You could argue they should be above Villa. So, stats-wise it doesn’t add up – David Moyes Out. It doesn’t add up to me. You know, this journey that they have been on, they have won the Cup, let’s see where that decision is at the end of the year. They should offer him the contract, and, in my opinion, it should be down to David Moyes and whether he feels it is time to move on to a new agenda for himself or to stay at the Hammers.”

We’re obviously not sitting in seventh spot anymore, and we’ve been knocked out of Europe.

However, Moyes wasn’t the focus of the 62-year-old’s attention on talkSPORT yesterday…

Alan Pardew says key West Ham player wants to leave

The former Hammers chief highlighted how one Hammer in particular looks like he’ll be off in the summer.

Lucas Paqueta got the treatment from Pards, when he was speaking on talkSPORT last night (Sunday April 28th, 8:28pm):

“There’s going to be some serious discussions over there. Paqueta to me has left the building, performance-wise and the way he’s been.”

In fairness to Paqueta, he did tell the Brazilian media just a few days ago that he is more than happy at the London Stadium.

However, what cannot be argued is the fact that his form has fallen off a cliff since the start of this month.

In 40 games for the Hammers this season, the Brazilian has bagged eight goals and seven assists. However, in six games this month, he has just one goal to his name – a penalty away at Wolves (Transfermarkt).

Back last summer it was claimed that he had his heart set on a move to Manchester City. If he is mailing it in for the remainder of the season though, Man City boss Pep Guardiola certainly won’t be impressed.

Alan Pardew reckons Paqueta’s West Ham exit this summer is inevitable. However, I’m not sure he’s selling himself very well to the best manager in world football.
