A witness reported seeing an ambulance and fire engine at the scene.

“It’s chaotic,” they told KentOnline.

“Cars are having to turn around in the road because the road down to Wye is shut and the A28 is closed.”

Traffic app Inrix is reporting there is queueing traffic due to the crash with the route being blocked.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed crews were called shortly after 1pm following reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

Paramedics are currently at the scene.

The police and fire services have also been contacted for comment.

The A28 is closed further along the road towards Canterbury due to gas works meaning cars are diverted along the A251 to Challock and A252 to Chilham to rejoin the A28.
