£26m Arsenal gem determined to leave, he does not want to work with Mikel Arteta

One of Arsenal’s most exciting prospects is reportedly eager to leave the club this summer, with the youngster no longer keen on working with Mikel Arteta.

The north London side are set for a huge transfer window later this year, with the likes of Thomas Partey and Jorginho the latest senior players to be linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer.

With Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson also expected to move on along with academy star Mika Biereth, there’s a real chance that Arsenal could make a sizeable amount of cash in the summer if they can attract the right bids.

And another big-name player now looks set to be leaving Arsenal this summer.

Charlie Patino set on leaving Arsenal for good this summer

According to CalcioMercato, Charlie Patino is eager to depart Arsenal for good in the upcoming transfer window, with the report stating that the midfield wonderkid is keen on a fresh start away from Arteta.

Valued at £26m, Patino is still regarded as one of Arsenal’s most exciting academy prospects, though all signs now seem to point towards the England youth international leaving north London after two successive loan spells.

With interest already there in Patino, Arsenal won’t be short of offers for the 20-year-old playmaker this summer, especially after a successful loan spell this season at Championship side Swansea City.

And with the midfielder now intent on leaving, Arsenal could find a suitor for Patino quicker than other players, with the north London side set for a big payday if they can offload the playmaker soon.

Gunners need to be smart with how they sell Patino

Arsenal have been guilty in the past of underselling their academy players, with the likes of Serge Gnabry leaving for pennies before developing into one of the world’s best attackers at Bayern Munich.

And whilst Patino is unlikely to reach such heights if he leaves Arsenal, the Gunners still need to be smart in how they structure of the potential sale of the 20-year-old Hale End graduate this summer.

As well as securing a good guaranteed fee, Arsenal need to ensure they are recouping a potential sell-on fee if Patino does develop and moves on again to a bigger club, a prospect that could happen a few years down the line.
