Rangers return for £6m forward eyed as Auchenhowie snap hints at Clement bonus

Philippe Clement hasn’t had much of a choice recently when it comes to picking Rangers forward line but things could be about to change.

The manager has put his trust in Cyriel Dessers and hasn’t been let down, however, he would love to have more options.

Injuries continue to disrupt the squad but Philippe Clement could have some good news with one Rangers player posting an injury update on social media.

Rangers could soon have Danilo back in action

The problem that Rangers have had is that, due to the number of wingers missing, Fabio Silva has had to play on the left-hand side of the attack.

What this has meant is that there is nobody else available to cover.

When Dessers is having a poor game, there is nothing else that Clement can do.

It will be tight but the manager might just be about to have this problem solved.

Posting on Instagram, Danilo has consistenly updated fans with how his rehabilitation from knee surgery is progressing.

This time, it is a significant step on his way back to the first-team despite what Clement said a few months ago, it is something to get excited about:

“No, it was a really severe injury. It’s a normal problem. We cannot speak about three or four weeks in a rehab like that. We will see. We are not going to force things for the last game of the season. That’s also stupid. It’s better to see that it’s 2000 per cent sure. Step by step, he is doing his rehab good.

“It was, let’s say, an unlucky tackle how he twisted his knee. It’s a pity because we was doing a lot of good things and he was growing. He feels really good here in the club and he felt good in the way of football.”

Can Danilo play a part in the remaining games?

The boots are back on, not only that, but they look dirty too.

With six goals and five assists in under 1000 minutes of football since joining from Feyenoord for £6m it’s pretty clear what Rangers have missed with Danilo being out injured.

The clock is ticking on the season, but if the Brazilian can even make the bench for the last 2-3 games then it will be a success.

You can never have too many goalscorers in the squad.

Clement might not want to rush Danilo back, if he is pain free and capable of playing, he should be given the chance to prove that he can contribute.

Danilo has been hugely unlucky in his first season at the club, if anyone deserves a bit of good news, it’s him.
