Report: Liverpool scouts were in attendance to watch 22-year-old forward with 'great potential'

According to recent reports, Liverpool were in attendance to watch a 22-year-old forward with ‘great potential’ recently.

As we get closer to the summer transfer window, the job of Liverpool scouts gets a little bit more intense. Even without knowing who the club’s new manager will be, they’ve been hard at work for the last few months.

However, with Arne Slot now looking destined to join the club, there is even more clarity in terms of where Liverpool may need to invest in the market this summer.

And the club’s scouts are hard at work. They’ve recently reportedly been in Denmark to watch a top flight clash between Brøndby IF and FC Midtjylland.

Liverpool scouts in attendance as Yuito Suzuki catches the eye

The game took place on April 21st between the two sides, and it saw Brøndby secure a 2-1 victory with Japanese forward Yuito Suzuki scoring a brace for his side.

According to Danish outlet Bold in Denmark, Liverpool were among a number of clubs in attendance who saw the 22-year-old forward catch the eye.

Suzuki now has 18 goal contributions in 27 matches this season, and he has been tipped to have a bright future by Brøndby’s manager, Jesper Sørensen as per the same report in Bold.

“Suzuki has some qualities that make him a player we don’t see very often in the Super League,” Sørensen said.

“We saw great potential when he arrived. The investment we made in getting him well integrated is really well.”

Could Liverpool scouts be tracking Suzuki?

It’s moot whether Liverpool’s scouts were there to watch Suzuki in particular. Undoubtedly, he caught the eye. However, it’s not guaranteed Liverpool’s scouts were watching him.

There are a number of other interesting prospects playing for both sides, who Liverpool could have been following.

Danish football is on the rise, and there are some really strong teams and players coming through the ranks at the moment.
