The Finals is getting a brand new game mode that CS2 players would love.
The Power Shift game mode in The Finals changed how the game was played. The 5v5 mode was a hit, prompting the developer to further explore the format. Now, Embark has torn the curtain on a shiny new mode called The Terminal Attack, which looks like a mode out of CS2 or Valorant.
The Terminal Attack is a 5v5 game similar to Powershift, but it takes competition to a whole new level.

What is The Terminal in The Finals
Unlike the traditional cashboxes, The Terminal Attack introduces a new challenge. Players must strategically defend The Terminal area from the relentless attackers, who are determined to plant the Decryption key into the Terminal box.
Each team will start from a spawn and rush towards the Terminal area. Attackers will want to get there as soon as possible to toss the Decryption key into the box, which looks quite similar to the Cashout box. Defenders will want to arrive at The Terminal to prevent the attackers from achieving their goal.
Here’s where things get pretty similar to reigning FPS games. Both teams will have one shot at achieving this goal. There are no revives or healings and no instant respawn. It’s a round-based format in which all players will spawn together upon team death or loss. In a seven-round game, whoever wins the majority first takes the trophy home.
All other utilities will be available besides healing and reviving. You may use shields, grenades, and other abilities to guard or attack the Terminal. Maps will also remain the same.
Players are already impressed by the gameplay model, which is quick and fast-paced but as competitive as any other objective game.
The Terminal will become playable in The Finals on May 2.
