A man was shot to death in Newark on Sunday night, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Police were responding to a report of shots fired on Osbourne Terrace at 8:43 p.m. On the scene, they located Deshaun Winston, 40, of East Orange, who was suffering from gunshot wounds and unresponsive, authorities said.
Winston was pronounced dead at 8:59 p.m., prosecutors said.
The shooting is still under investigation. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is asking anyone with information to call its tip line at 877-847-7432.
