'Math isn't mathing': Kayleigh McEnany skewered for Trump praise that doesn't add up

If you do the math, Kayleigh McEnany is pining for the early days of President Joe Biden's administration.

Former President Donald Trump's onetime White House Press Secretary mistakenly made this declaration on Fox News Monday in a failed attempt to praise her boss to host Jesse Watters — but gaffed with the math.

"People just look at that and they roll their eyes and they see this presidency or the failure of what it is," she said. "And they think back to three years ago and they remember the good days of President Trump and that is why you see the polls soaring the way are for the former president."

Three years ago, Biden had been in office for nearly four months.

McEnany was likely referencing a recently released CNN poll that found Trump is still coasting with 49% of registered voters in front of Biden's 43%.

And given the spirit of McEnany's point, 55% of all Americans view the Trump’s presidency as a success, while only 44% see it as a failure. That's a marked bump from 2021 when the numbers were almost reverse with 55% of Americans calling Trump's time in office a bust.

Nonetheless, several pounced on the unintentional endorsement of Biden and clouded view of Trump's last year at the leader of the free world.

"Things were definitely getting better but her math isn’t mathing," according to Rose Benson. "I think she means, the early days of President Biden."

For three years ago, Biden was still trying to bring the nation out of the depths of COVID-19 — which had already taken the lives of nearly 600,000 people in the U.S.

"No, Kayleigh, it wasn’t fun trying to find toilet paper in a pandemic where tons of people died," tweeted Art Candy.

Cindy Meek Brown also recalled well the run on toilet paper under Trump when the pandemic was raging, writing: "When there was no toilet paper, we had to stay home, good times."

One couch-sitting fact checker let McEnany suggested she should check her math before going on national television, posting, "Three years ago we had President Biden. Just sayin'..."

Commander T'Pol followed suit, with the post: "3 years ago, Biden was president. I was pretty happy we had him. I was very happy we got rid of Trump."

And johnny_divot peppered some sarcasm, writing: "Yeah, that whole pandemic thing was a hoot."
