Manchester United fans have a lot to say as Shea Lacey confirms his season is over

Manchester United youngster Shea Lacey has confirmed that his season is over, here’s how fans have reacted to the news.

This season hasn’t been ideal for Manchester United wonderkid Shea Lacey, as he missed five months through injury before returning recently.

Lacey only made his comeback to the academy a few weeks ago, first being spotted in first-team training and then making an appearance for the U18 side.

However, in what is a cruel twist, the 17-year-old has had his season cut short as he’s confirmed he’s now ruled out for the rest of the season.

For Lacey, this is a huge setback considering how much time he’d already missed this season. Here’s what he’s said and also how fans are reacting.

Shea Lacey confirms his season is over

After only recently recovering it’s another setback for Lacey as he took to social media with some devastating injury news.

Tweeting, the 17-year-old wrote: “Gutted to have picked up another injury to finish my season early looking forward to next season”.

This was followed by a crossed fingers emoji and an annoyed emoji as it will no doubt have been a frustrating six months for Lacey.

However, it will be more of a blow given that he was being tipped as a potential debutant in the season’s final weeks, something that would’ve excited the fanbase.

But after he announced the injury, fans have all been reacting with some having a fear over one thing, while many have also sent him messages.

How Manchester United fans reacted to Shea Lacey’s injury news

Under Lacey’s post, over a hundred United fans were sending him messages with some fearing that another injury is a sign Lacey is becoming injury-prone.

One fan sent an encouraging message to the teen, saying: “Head up bro, don’t let this demotivate you. Start afresh in the summer and have a season to remember for the next.”

“Get some well-deserved rest and recuperation, you’ve the world at your feet. Really looking forward to seeing you in the first team,” wrote a second.

Some fans were looking on the bright side, that it’s not the worst time to get injured as he has the summer to recuperate.

“If there was a time to pick one up it’d of been now. Hopefully, you can be back for pre-season with a view to getting some minutes in the first team”, a fan added.

Another added: “Pre-season is coming Shea don’t worry, go take some earned rest.”

It wasn’t all positive though, as one fan is concerned over how many injuries Lacey is picking up: “Nah bro we can’t afford him to be injury-prone this early.”

While another wrote: “If u dare be injury prone man…”
