Chris Sutton absolutely baffled by what one Arsenal star did on Sunday vs Tottenham

Chris Sutton has been left absolutely baffled by what one Arsenal star did on Sunday against Tottenham.

The Gunners battled their north London rivals to claim a big 3-2 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the result boosting Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes in a big way and ensuring Spurs couldn’t finish above them for another year.

It was a nervy game for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s side almost threw away a 3-0 lead as Tottenham fought back in the second half thanks in large part to individual mistakes from David Raya and Declan Rice, with the Gunners surviving the scare.

Yet there was one moment that Sutton was confused by from one Arsenal moment.

Ben White antics leaves Sutton baffled during Arsenal’s win vs Tottenham

Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off, the pundit was left baffled by Ben White’s attempt to wind up Guglielmo Vicario, with the Arsenal defender seen tugging on the Tottenham goalkeeper’s gloves during a corner kick.

Whilst Arsenal fans absolutely loved what the £50m signing from Brighton & Hove Albion did, it was a moment that drew some criticism from a certain section of football supporters and pundits.

And Sutton seemingly falls into the latter category, with the pundit genuinely baffled by what White was trying to accomplish in being a nuisance to Vicario in the north London derby.

Sutton said: “That was pure housery from Ben White? What was he? How is that going to? That was like Martin Keown when he used to pinch players. What’s the objective? What’s the desired outcome? Maybe it is just to ruffle a feather or two, but who cares?”

Fans will hope White never stops with his shenanigans

White has established himself as one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers since joining the club in 2021, and the defender’s shenanigans towards rival players has made the 26-year-old an Emirates Stadium icon.

From not giving a care in the world in post-match interviews to doing every trick in the book of dark arts to annoy opposing players, White is someone who has earned the respect of Arsenal fans the right way.

And supporters will hope the defender doesn’t stop with his shenanigans on and off the pitch, with the defender building quite a legend for himself with his actions.
