Japan forward Rui Hachimura scored 15 points but could not prevent the Los Angeles Lakers from suffering a season-ending 108-106 defeat against the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Western Conference playoffs on Monday.
The Game 5 loss left the Lakers with a 4-1 series defeat in the best-of-seven first round, which started with last season's champion Denver winning three straight.
LeBron James led the Lakers with 30 points and made two free throws to tie the game with 26 seconds left at Ball Arena in Denver, but Jamal Murray, who led the game with 32 points, scored a pullup jump shot with four seconds remaining to snatch the win.
Hachimura played 34 minutes and scored double figures for the first time in this season's playoffs, and he also logged five rebounds.
