What one Leicester player was singing about Leeds in the dressing room last night after Championship title secured

Enzo Maresca’s side won the Championship title on Monday evening, defeating Preston North End 3-0 at Deepdale.

Leicester were rampant in Lancashire and showed little signs of a hangover from their promotion celebrations over the weekend.

Jamie Vardy netted a brace to take his tally to 20 goals for the season across just 19 starts, which is a phenomenal record.

The 37-year-old is out of contract in the summer but discussions over extending his stay are expected to commence.

Vardy has plenty left to give and it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see him notch double figures in the top-flight next term.

Academy graduate Kasey McAteer added the third, heading home a teasing Abdul Fatawu cross.

It marked Fatawu’s 13th assist of the campaign, two behind the leading playmaker Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Leicester City can still achieve 100 points

A hallmark of all great Championship teams is achieving 100 points and Leicester have the chance to do that on Saturday.

Maresca’s men play host to relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers at King Power Stadium, with a win needed to break triple figures.

For a moment, it looked as though City were on course to finish well below 100 points after they went on a run of six defeats in 10 games.

But they’ve turned the screw at the business end of the season, winning five of their last seven outings, including a 5-0 hammering against Southampton.

Even with the title in the bag, City will be desperate to fulfil the last objective and become centurions.

What one Leicester City player sang about Leeds United

Amidst the jubilant celebrations in the dressing room last night, a Leicester player could be heard singing about Leeds United.

In the middle of ‘I Predict a Riot’ chants, one City ace sang: “Leeds are falling apart.”

It’s not been confirmed who it was but notwithstanding that, it caused quite the stir among the two sets of supporters.

For the last couple of months, Leeds have been hot on the tails of The Foxes, especially after defeating them 3-1 at Elland Road.

Now, with a seven-point buffer separating the pair and Leicester crowned champions, players were keen to amplify that notion at Deepdale last night.
