Fabrizio Romano says there is a 'concrete possibility' of exit for 'top-level' Arsenal ace

Several Arsenal players have been linked with exits this summer, and Mikel Arteta may have to part ways with some stars he has previously heaped praise on.

A number of Arsenal’s homegrown talents could depart, which would provide a significant financial boost to the club in terms of profit and sustainability rules.

Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson have both been linked with exits having hardly featured this season, but even Eddie Nketiah, who was a regular starter at the beginning of the campaign, now looks ready to leave.

The England International has made 37 appearances in all competitions this season, but has not started a single game in 2024, with Arteta now seemingly ready to move on from him.

Eddie Nketiah likely to leave Arsenal at the end of the season

In his Daily Briefing, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that an exit for Nketiah is the most likely outcome for his future.

“(A player) to watch could be someone like Eddie Nketiah – I think there’s a concrete possibility that he could move on, and he’s always had plenty of interest from clubs in the Premier League and the Bundesliga,” Romano explained.

“In the past, we’ve seen interest from West Ham, Crystal Palace and Borussia Monchengladbach, now let’s see if any teams will make a proposal this summer, but for sure it’s a possibility for Nketiah to make way as Arsenal are looking for a potential new addition up front, while they also have Gabriel Jesus, as well as Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard who can also play there.”

Arteta gave Nketiah a big contract in 2022 after an outstanding run of form, and he has proved useful as a backup in the last two seasons.

Although he has appeared 37 times this season, 24 of these were cameos from the bench, and his 1392 minutes equates to around 15 90-minute spells.

The Spaniard described Nketiah as “top-level” after the 24-year-old scored a hattrick against Sheffield United earlier this season, but with Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard overtaking him in the pecking order, his prospect of more regular minutes is slim, and he should now move onto a club where he can showcase his talent in front of goal more.
