‘Instantly’: Journalist shares what he’s been hearing about Salah and Klopp after Saturday’s spat

Liverpool drew with West Ham at the weekend, but it was an incident away from the pitch that dominated the headlines.

Indeed, Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp’s touchline spat has been the talk of the footballing world over the past few days.

Two of the most important figures at Anfield have had a go at each other, and many are wondering about potential tensions behind the scenes on Merseyside.

Speaking on The Daily Football Briefing, David Ornstein has been discussing Salah and Klopp’s argument, and, interestingly, he says that he’s been told that there’s no real concern around this issue at Liverpool right now.

No concern about Salah and Klopp’s argument at Liverpool

Ornstein shared what he’s been hearing about Salah and Klopp after Saturday’s debacle.

“My information is that Salah has expressed no intention to depart. He remains fully committed to Liverpool. A lot of people point to the tense exchange with Jurgen Klopp on the touchline on Saturday, but instantly I’ve not sensed any real concern around that. And even if there was an issue, it kind of doesn’t matter because Klopp won’t be there for much longer,” Ornstein said.

Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp’s argument doesn’t matter

While it’s positive to hear that Ornstein hasn’t had any suggestions of concern around the matter, the reality is that it doesn’t matter.

Klopp and Salah could have the biggest falling out you could imagine where Salah is sent to train with the U18s and he doesn’t play again this season, but, in the end, it doesn’t make a difference.

Klopp has three games left as the Liverpool manager, beyond that, his relationships with this current crop of players is, with all due respect, largely irrelevant.

If Salah and Klopp have indeed fallen out, this is, as strange as it sounds, the ideal time to do it, as in a few weeks’ time, they will no longer be colleagues.
