'Not really worked': Kaiser Chiefs guitarist says Leeds have made a signing which has failed

A BBC pundit has revealed what Daniel Farke’s biggest problem at Leeds United is.

Leeds have been on a dismal run of form in the Championship, winning one of their last five outings.

Such form has put their automatic promotion hopes in serious jeopardy and they are now heavily reliant on Coventry City doing them a favour against Ipswich Town this evening.

The West Yorkshire outfit remain in second place but level on points with The Tractor Boys, who have a game in hand.

Ipswich need four points from the remaining two games to seal automatic promotion, so it is completely out of Leeds’ hands.

Whilst Farke‘s side aren’t in a great position by any means, a top-two finish is still attainable and they must remain hopeful.

Eyes will be firmly on Coventry tonight, as they desperately hope for a favour, with an Ipswich defeat the only real outcome that would keep automatic promotion alive.

Even a point for Kieran McKenna’s men would mean a win against Huddersfield Town on the final day would be enough to seal a remarkable return to the Premier League after a 22-year absence.

Anyhow, whatever happens, Farke has a lot to answer for to even be in this state.

Simon Rix reveals Daniel Farke’s biggest problem

The question among Leeds supporters at the moment is; where did it all go wrong?

Well, speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, Kaiser Chief bassist Simon Rix believes Farke’s main issue is upfront.

“It comes down to Piroe as well, he just seems like the signing that’s not really worked and I don’t know why that is,” Rix admitted.

He continued: “This year, it kind of feels like if Bamford doesn’t play there’s a problem.”

“The facts are Leeds are better with Bamford in the side,” Jonny Buchan added.

Against Queens Park Rangers, Bamford’s absence was evident, as the away side struggled to keep ahold of the ball.

The 30-year-old has his critics but many would agree that his link play is excellent and that was missing at Loftus Road.

Farke will be desperate to have him back for the final-day clash against Southampton at Elland Road, which is quite simply, a must-win.
