Police appeal for witnesses after grievous bodily harm incident in Fifth Road in Newbury

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident of grievous bodily harm in Newbury.

A man was attacked in Fifth Road last Sunday (April, 21) between 9pm and 10pm.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by an unknown person.

He was attacked and sustained injuries to his head and wrist which Thames Valley Police say required hospital treatment.

He has since been discharged.

Investigating officer PC Kate Sidwell, based at Newbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed this incident to please contact Thames Valley Police.

“I would be particularly keen to hear from any pedestrians or dog walkers who were in the area or anybody who was driving in the area to please get in touch if you have information that can assist my investigation.

“If you have dash-cam in your vehicles, please check this and contact us if it has captured anything that may assist.
