Mateusz Klich posts brilliant five-word message to Leeds United fans with Ipswich in action tonight

Mateusz Klich has posted a brilliant message to Leeds United fans on X this afternoon ahead of Tuesday night’s clash between Ipswich Town and Coventry City.

The 4-0 loss to QPR last week has seen Leeds’ chances of automatic promotion fall by the wayside. The Whites remain in second place, but Daniel Farke’s side look set to be overtaken by Ipswich at some point.

That could be tonight, when Kieran McKenna’s men use up their game in hand over Leeds. They take on a Coventry side that reached The FA Cup semi-finals, which is why Tuesday night’s clash was rescheduled.

With Leeds and Ipswich sitting level on points, anything other than a defeat would see Ipswich go above Leeds. A point takes the race for second into the final day of the season, when Leeds host Southampton.

Ipswich winning almost certainly secures promotion with only a draw needed against a Huddersfield side that are not mathematically down but need a swing of 15 goals and to win in order to survive the drop.

For Leeds fans then, tonight can only end in one result and that is a Coventry win. That is why Leeds icon Klich has taken to Twitter and posted a brilliant five-word message to supporters ahead of the game.

Klich shows Leeds loyalty with brilliant Coventry post

The DC United midfielder left Elland Road back in January 2023 after rarely being used by Jesse Marsch during the first half of the 22-23 season. Klich has since underlined his dislike for the American manager.

Across the pond, Klich has been excellent for DC alongside Christian Benteke and other recognisable names. But Klich’s love for Leeds United remains and he proved that with his latest post on X.

The Poland star uploaded a four-word Tweet that read “All Coventry Aren’t We? #MOT”, a play on the famous Leeds song. The Whites and Klich will be hoping Mark Robins’ side can do Leeds a favour.

Do Leeds really have any chance of still getting second?

It does seem unlikely at this stage. Even if Ipswich failed to win tonight, a draw would be plenty before taking on a Huddersfield side that they will be expected to walk over on Saturday afternoon.

If Leeds are to go up in the top two, then they need Coventry to win tonight. A point still hands Ipswich and McKenna the advantage. Coventry are capable, but have dropped off since the FA Cup semi-final.

Ipswich could be without assist machine and former Leeds defender Leif Davis, who has created 21 goals this season. Without the marauding left-back they are certainly weaker – but is it enough?
