The report detailed that the Lions have an asking price in the region of €25m (£21m), a low price for a player of high talent at the age of just 23.
Speaking exclusively to Aston Villa News, HITC journalist Graeme Bailey gave an insight into Yilmaz, sharing what Villa could expect if he were to arrive at Villa Park in the summer.
“Villa are one of the clubs watching him, they like him a lot. He’s a thoroughly interesting player, a scout said to me, he’s like the Turkish Valverde. He can literally play everywhere.
“This season he’s played about eight positions, it’s fascinating. Great player, he’s the sort of player who could provide competition in the squad for a lot of places.
“The one thing about him is, people aren’t sure what his best position is, he’s a fabulous talent.
“It’s not a surprise to see them linked to someone like Yilmaz, a very good player who can offer them a lot.”
Baris Alper Yilmaz would be a strong signing for Aston Villa
Once likened to Premier League star Son Heung-min by talent scout Jacek Kulig, Yilmaz certainly fits the demographic of player that Emery could use to his advantage at Aston Villa.
Deployable primarily on the wing, but possessing the versatility to play in a vast variety of positions, the 23-year-old could find sanctuary playing in Villa’s free-flowing model under the Spaniard’s guidance.

As highlighted in the table above, the Galatasaray talent has performed to an encouraging level this season, with his form in front of goal taking off at the start of 2024.
