'What worries me': Michael Brown admits he has two big concerns for Manchester City in the title race

Former Manchester City midfielder Michael Brown has expressed two particular concerns he has for Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League title race.

City and Arsenal are just a point apart in the table, after both clubs won their games on Sunday.

Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2, and then City responded well by defeating Nottingham Forest 2-0 at the City Ground.

It is turning into the most exciting title race in a while for the neutral, with the Gunners laying down a stronger challenge than last season.

City are still the favourites for most people with their game in hand – even if it is against bogey side Spurs.

Michael Brown has been speaking about the remaining games, and he admits he is fearful about two fixtures in particular, with Arsenal looking strong.

City have four games remaining, with Arsenal having just three.

The title is in Pep Guardiola and the players’ hands, and a perfect finish will result in history being made, with City winning a fourth straight Premier League.

But it seems as though Arsenal will push City all the way, and it will certainly be a test.

Michael Brown was discussing the title race on the We’re Not Really Here podcast, and admitted the form of Arsenal concerns him. In his eyes, there are two potential banana skins coming up for City.

He said: “City might have to go every single game (winning). I wasn’t sure City could win every single game, whether there was a draw in there or something different. Now Arsenal are making sure City have to do that, they have to be at their best every week.

“What worries me for City is away to Fulham. Really, really excellent at home, great home form. They are looking to finish the season strongly especially in those home games. And then the Spurs game, they’ll want a reaction, they’ll still be fighting for Champions League.”

They’re all tough games

Brown points to Fulham and Spurs as being worrying games for City, but realistically all four of City’s remaining games are difficult.

It’s Wolves this weekend, and they have shown this season that they can beat anyone. They ran out 2-1 victors in the reverse fixture at Molineux, and have obviously beaten City before at the Etihad.

And then West Ham United on the final day could also be hard, especially if City need to win that game. The Hammers are pushing for European football and will want to finish with a win.

With Arsenal looking so strong, a big effort is required in these final games. But City have been there, and fans are optimistic.

Paul Merson reckons his old side will fall short in the title race against City, and hopefully that prediction comes to fruition.
