What Brendan Rodgers does post-match with managers after Celtic games really impresses Pat Bonner

Brendan Rodgers has a reputation at Celtic as being an approachable manager who loves giving time to people within the game.

Managers in the game have commented about it before and he is also known to talk to opposition players from time to time if they have played well against his Celtic team.

Lennon Miller told how the Hoops gaffer pulled him to one side after he put in a great performance despite Celtic going on to beat Motherwell 3-1 earlier this season.

And it seems that this is something that Brendan Rodgers has made a point of doing from early on in his managerial career.

Pat Bonner shares Rodgers’ quality

Pat Bonner hung up his gloves in 1998 and headed down to Reading where he took up a coaching role alongside the late, great Tommy Burns.

And the former Celtic hero recounted how Rodgers used to always have time for his counterparts at full-time even in those early days of his budding coaching career.

Bonner said [Scottish Football Podcast], “Anytime I have come into contact with him in the past he was always willing to sit down and talk to you after the game.

“When I was coaching when I was down at Reading he was always interested in the game.

“So I think he does that with managers too. When he meets them he talks to them about the game and he builds up relationships with them.”

Rodgers now has four games left to seal the title and it looks like, no matter what, he will still take the time to talk to rival managers after the game.

Hopefully, these chats will take place after Celtic wins because if Rodgers can steer us to these victories then it will mean that Celtic will be crowned champions for the third season in a row heading into the Scottish Cup Final next month.
