Price tag of long-term Arteta striker target revealed, Arsenal add him ‘to their list’

Arsenal have now learned the price tag of one of Mikel Arteta’s summer transfer targets.

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new striker.

Whilst Kai Havertz has impressed up front for the Gunners in recent months, Mikel Arteta could still do with adding additional firepower to his squad ahead of next season.

Gabriel Jesus has underperformed in front of goal this season. The Brazilian only has four Premier League strikes to his name. Whilst he has never been the most prolific of forwards, the North London club will have still expected a significantly better return from the former Manchester City man than this.

Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah has also fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium. The Hale End academy graduate was a regular starter in the first half of the season but has barely featured since the turn of the year as Arteta looks to have lost faith in him.

Nketiah has now been listed amongst thirteen Arsenal players who may well leave the club at the end of this season.

Arsenal to go back in for Dusan Vlahovic

In terms of potential incomings, Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers. Now, rumours linking the club with a move for Dusan Vlahovic have resurfaced.

The Gunners have shown an interest in the Serbian marksman before. In January 2022, Arteta tried to bring the 24-year-old to North London whilst he was still on the books at Fiorentina. Arsenal made a £50 million bid for the forward at this time, as reported by Metro.

However, Vlahovic ultimately opted to make a switch to Juventus instead. However, he has struggled to shine on a consistent basis for the Turin giants, despite having racked up 40 goals in 96 appearances across all competitions for the club.

Arsenal learn Dusan Vlahovic price tag

Arteta clearly saw something in Vlahovic though, and seems to have retained his interest in the player. The 25-cap Serbia international certainly has attractive attributes which would likely make him an ideal tactical fit at Arsenal.

He is a powerful physical presence, who boasts excellent technique and is able to hold up the ball and bring his teammates into play. He would be able to replicate Havertz’s function in the side, offering a focal point at the top of the pitch.

According to GiveMeSport, Juventus have now put a £55 million price tag on Vlahovic amid concerns that he is reluctant to sign a new contract with the Serie A outfit. Arsenal have now apparently added him “to their list of summer transfer targets.”
