Jens Lehmann has now shared whether he thinks Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners currently sit one point clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League with just three games remaining – although Pep Guardiola crucially has a game in hand over Mikel Arteta.
Nevertheless, Manchester City still need to take three points from that game in hand – which comes against Tottenham – as Arsenal are seven goals to the good in terms of goal difference.
So, who does Lehmann think will win the Premier League? Let’s take a look…
Jens Lehmann shares Premier League title prediction
Well, the German wants his old side to win the Premier League, but believes Arteta’s men are currently too “cautious” to win major trophies.
Lehmann told the Daily Mail: “They’re very different to us (the Invincibles) in their approach – much more cautious and slower with the ball. Physically, they run a lot more and have more high intensity runs but they don’t play faster than us because we were a one touch team.
“They all take three, four touches at a time, and if you’re too cautious in football, you can’t win trophies. Most of the time, the bravest teams win the league. I would love them to win the title but that has cost them in certain games.”
“It’s 20 years since we won the league and I hope Arsenal win, but it’s not in their own hands anymore and that’s a weakness.”
Clearly, the man who made 200 appearances for Arsenal does not expect the Gunners to snatch Manchester City’s title this season.

We strongly disagree with Lehmann’s comments.
Arsenal have the third-youngest squad in the Premier League with an average age of 25 years and 62 days, according to Opta.

- Arsenal – 25 years and 62 days
- Tottenham – 25 years and 152 days
- Bournemouth – 26 years and 30 days
- Nottingham Forest – 26 years and 50 days
- Sheffield United – 26 years and 75 days
- Brighton – 26 years and 255 days
- Manchester United – 26 years and 258 days
None of the top nine teams in this table are even in the Premier League’s top four – let alone going for the title – so we would argue against Lehmann’s claim that Arteta’s young guns are not one of the bravest sides in England.
It takes guts to push this juggernaut of a Manchester City side all the way in consecutive seasons, and as Arsenal manage to score freely and defend admirably as well, we would also challenge Lehmann’s remark about the Gunners being too “cautious” – the north Londoners have seemed anything but that in 2024 so far.
Hopefully, Arteta’s side can go all the way this season.
