£13m English talent expected to leave as Tottenham show interest

Tottenham Hotspur may have seen Fabio Paratici officially leave the club last year, but the focus on the Italian market remains strong.

Paratici was slapped with a worldwide ban by FIFA due to his role in ‘alleged financial mispractice’ at Juventus.

The Italian officially stepped down as managing director of football at Tottenham but has remained in an advisory role.

Ever since Paratici’s arrival in 2021, we have seen Tottenham bring in a host of players from the Italian market.

Pierluigi Gollini, Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur all arrived from Italian clubs inside Paratici’s first year at the club.

Ivan Perisic and Destiny Udogie then signed in the summer of 2022 before Guglielmo Vicario and Radu Dragusin came in over the last year.

Tottenham clearly remain active in the Italian market despite Paratici’s official exit and another Serie A talent is now being linked.

Tottenham want Samuel Iling-Junior

The latest rumour comes from Tutto Juve as they claim that Tottenham want winger Samuel Iling-Junior.

It’s stated that Spurs have ‘come forward’ for Iling-Junior alongside Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

Atalanta are also interested in Iling-Junior and he is described as being ‘increasingly closer’ to leaving the club.

Juventus are ready to cash in for around €15million (£13million) with Iling-Junior seemingly ready to move on.

The 20-year-old has only started two Serie A games this season but has come off the bench in another 19.

Iling-Junior has chipped in with one goal and two assists this season but he seems ready to move on in search of more opportunities.

Tottenham will be looking at potential signings out wide with Timo Werner only on loan from RB Leipzig.

Werner can be signed permanently for around £15million but Iling-Junior offers a cheaper, younger option and that could intrigue Spurs.

Iling-Junior supports Arsenal

One slight issue is that Iling-Junior is a big Arsenal fan.

The Juventus talent told The Athletic in February of 2023 that he supports Arsenal and joins Juve teammate Wojciech Szczesny in cheering on the Gunners from afar.

That may not endear him with some Tottenham fans but we have seen Arsenal supporters turn out for Spurs in the past.

If Tottenham believe that Iling-Junior can make a big impact, then his support of Arsenal shouldn’t matter too much.

An exciting winger with real potential, Iling-Junior could be a great investment for the future and he won’t break the bank as Tottenham chase summer additions.
