Report: 26-year-old defender is 'crazy' supporter of Liverpool, Arne Slot knows him very well

One player Arne Slot knows very well is said to be a ‘crazy’ supporter of Liverpool.

The Reds are all set to welcome the Feyenoord boss as their new manager this summer after Jurgen Klopp leaves the club.

The German will be a big loss for the Reds. He has done a remarkable job for them over the years, and succeeding him will not be easy.

Slot seems to have accepted that challenge, and he will surely want to bring in a few new players.

We’ve already told you that Lutsharel Geertruida would love to join Liverpool if Slot becomes the next manager of the club.

Now, it has been claimed that one of his teammates would be willing to do that as well because he’s a ‘crazy’ supporter of Liverpool.

David Hancko is a ‘crazy’ supporter of Liverpool

Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world – they have fans everywhere.

Arne Slot‘s imminent arrival opens the door for new signings, and we’re sure he would like to strengthen multiple areas of the Reds’ squad.

Additions in defence will likely be the priority for Liverpool this summer.

Joel Matip is all set to depart, while Virgil van Dijk, who is still one of the best centre-backs in the world, will turn 33 in July. Kostas Tsimikas’ future may well be up in the air too.

Liverpool are very likely to focus on the left half of their defence, and one of Slot’s current players is said to be a huge fan of the Reds – David Hancko.

The 26-year-old Slovakia international has been an integral part of Slot’s Feyenoord, playing 45 times in all competitions this season.

He has played as a centre-half and a left-back, and De Telegraaf claim this week that Hancko has been ‘crazy’ about Liverpool since a young age.

Slot’s arrival could open the door for Hancko at Liverpool, but the report claims Feyenoord are aware of interest from Italy in the talented defender.

Hancko has explained two reasons why he’s a big Liverpool fan

David Hancko was on Liverpool’s radar before Arne Slot became their number-one managerial target.

Graeme Bailey revealed on HITC in January that the Reds have watched Hancko as they consider options to strengthen the left side of their defence.

If Liverpool do make a move for Hancko, it is very likely that they will get him as the Slovak has publicly claimed that he’s a big Reds fan.

When asked what made him support the Anfield club, he revealed his two reasons.

“It all started with the Istanbul Champions League final in 2005, which my parents allowed me to watch until the end, and I didn’t have to go to bed even when extra time was going on, he said.

“And then came Martin Skrtel (his compatriot and one of Slovakia’s greatest ever defenders).

“I have been a Liverpool fan ever since. I follow the English Premier League the most, so that is my dream.

“My role model has always been David Beckham, but I feel most for Liverpool, but so far nothing is happening. Because of my new contract it won’t be easy. If there is a possibility and it is good for us, why not?”
