Georgia Rep. MTG Rips Johnson And Biden For Ukraine Support And 10-Year Deal In The Works

Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

With news of an alleged 10-year security funding deal between Ukraine and the U.S. in the works, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene ripped both President Joe Biden and Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson for refusing to secure America's border.

The Georgia Republican offered a pair of posts on X on Sunday in response to reporting about comments made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a televised speech on Sunday night.

As the Tampa Free Press first reported, Zelenskyy suggested that the recently approved $61 billion in U.S. aid, atop more than $100 billion already shipped to Ukraine, was just a down payment on future financial backing.

The U.S.-Ukraine “bilateral agreement would encompass military aid, joint weapons production, and additional financial and political support and arrive at undisclosed, pre-planned levels over a decade."

During a live briefing on Sunday, Zelenskyy announced the 10-year deal that’s in the works, stating, “I have just spoken with Hakeem Jeffries, the leader of the Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives. I thanked him and all the congressmen for their support of our country and personal leadership in advancing a new package of assistance to Ukraine. We are interacting with our partners at all levels to achieve the level of efficiency in assistance that is needed not only to hold our positions, but also to disrupt Russia’s war plans.”

“Ukraine and the United States are currently working on a bilateral security agreement, and we are already working on a specific text. Our goal is to make this agreement the strongest of all,” Zelenskyy said Sunday.

“We are discussing the specific foundations of our security and cooperation. We are also working on fixing specific levels of support for this year and for the next ten years, including armed support, financial, political, and joint arms production,” Zelenskyy added.

“The agreement should be truly exemplary and reflect the strength of American leadership. I am grateful to both our team and the team of the American side for the progress in drafting the agreement,” Zelenskyy said.

Greene, a Georgia Republican, was less than thrilled.

“Permanent funding for Ukraine is exactly what they want and Mike Johnson will give it to them,” she posted on X Sunday. “Peace is not an option for them because it doesn’t fit the government appropriations war business and economic model, which is vile and disgusting.”

“They’re (sic) plan is keep funding the proxy war with Russia in Ukraine and when that doesn’t work, after all the Ukrainian men have been slaughtered, next they will put American troops on the ground,” she added. “Johnson will do whatever Biden/Schumer want in order to keep the Speaker’s gavel in his hand, but he has completely sold out the Republican voters who gave us the majority.”

“His days as Speaker are numbered.”

In a second post, Greene added, “The United States of America is being invaded every single day by thousands of people from over 160 countries around the world. What foreign country is coming to the defense of our border???”
