'A machine': Moises Caicedo says he absolutely loves playing with 24-year-old Chelsea teammate

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo is the club’s record signing.

Chelsea bought Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer for £115m, surpassing Enzo Fernandez on the Blues’ list of most expensive arrivals.

Despite the above, the 22-year-old remains a humble player and still really looks up to one of his teammates.

Caicedo and Chelsea have a huge game against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.

The Ecuadorian has already expressed his desire to play in the derby at Stamford Bridge.

Moises Caicedo labels teammate ‘a machine’

Despite their league position, Chelsea have a lot of good players in their squad.

The above includes Fernandez and Conor Gallagher, and Caicedo has been speaking about the pair.

“Conor is like a machine, you know?”, the Ecuador international was quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official website. “I like to play alongside Conor and Enzo.

“With Conor, he has different characteristics. Enzo is more an offensive player and Conor is more defensive and he helps me a lot when we need to recover the ball. It’s amazing to play with both of them.”

Why is Conor Gallagher a machine?

Caicedo’s description of Gallagher is a fair one. The 24-year-old works extremely hard whenever he is on the pitch.

As per FBref, Gallagher has ranked in the 97th percentile for tackles and the 98th for interceptions among attacking midfielders and wingers over the past 12 months.

Of course, the Englishman is more of a central midfielder, but Pochettino has not been afraid to utilise him further forward this season.

However, with Fernandez out injured, Gallagher is likely to start deeper alongside Caicedo until the end of the campaign. And based on the former Brighton man’s words, it seems like he will have no problem with that.

After their game against Tottenham, Caicedo and the England international will go up against West Ham United in another London derby this Sunday, one of their main rivals for European football.
