Bayern Munich fans are all saying the same thing about Eric Dier after Tuesday’s draw vs Real Madrid

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier was in action again on Tuesday night for Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid.

The 30-year-old has been sent out on loan to Bayern for the remainder of the campaign, but the German giants will be making his stay permanent for next season.

Eric Dier has joined Harry Kane out in Munich as the pair look to end their trophy drought after years in north London with Tottenham.

And the pair are now 90 minutes away from playing in another Champions League final but face a tough task of needing a win away at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game on Tuesday night in Munich saw the two sides tied at 2-2 with Kane scoring from the spot in the second half.

With the Champions League their final opportunity at a trophy this season, Bayern fans have now been reacting to Dier’s performance during the game against the European giants.

It has now been a number of months since Dier made the move to the Allianz Arena and it seems the fans are all coming to a unanimous conclusion on the centre-back.

Bayern Munich fans have all been left saying the same thing about Eric Dier

After years in north London, Dier’s time at Tottenham came to an end in the January window after a difficult few months under Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian arrived in the summer and it became apparent very quickly that Dier would not be in the 58-year-old’s plans.

With just 189 minutes of football played within the first half of the season under the new manager, Dier moved on with Radu Dragusin being signed in the winter market.

But it has proved to be a move which has favoured the Englishman who has now become a regular fixture in the Bayern side.

And it seems the Bayern fans have taken to Dier very well over his first few months at the club having played a big role in their Champions League run.

Playing alongside Kim Min-jae on Tuesday night, Bayern fans took to social media to hail the performance of the Englishman.

One fan was clearly delighted with Dier’s display as they said, ‘Better than Upa and Kim. High IQ CBs are the best’. Whilst another added, ‘The King’.

After speaking of his frustration after the game, one fan praised Dier’s comments, ‘Attitude of a winner’. With another fan saying, ‘Our best CB and we got him for 3 Mio……this is great and sad at the same time.’

Another fan was keen to praise Dier’s display by saying, ‘Our best cb today’. But perhaps the comment of the night was when one fan said, ‘Beckendier’, referencing the legendary German defender.

What Eric Dier admitted after he left Tottenham in January

The move to Munich was one which may have shocked a fair few people considering how heavily Dier had been snubbed by Postecoglou.

After months sitting on the bench for Tottenham, the Englishman had earned himself a move to one of the biggest clubs in the world.

And speaking prior to their first leg against Arsenal, Dier admitted he could have done with the move away about six months earlier.

“Yeah, it was definitely time for me,” Dier told Gary Neville. “It was probably six months too late if we’re honest.

“I had a fantastic time at Tottenham. I left very amicably and I always hope I can do that with people just in my life in general. I had a very, very good relationship with the club the whole time I was there.”
