'Tell him'... Jack Grealish mocks Kieran Trippier as Newcastle United star trains in Dubai

Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier is working hard in Dubai as he steps up his recovery.

The 33-year-old is currently out of action due to a calf injury, and has been absent ever since limping out of Newcastle United’s 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on March 2nd.

Kieran Trippier had to be substituted in the second half of that win, and the hope was that he would only miss two games due to injury. The expectation was that he would be back for the match against West Ham United at St James’ Park.

That fixture proved to be a classic, with Newcastle coming from 3-1 down to win 4-3. However, Trippier was nowhere to be seen.

When Kieran Trippier is expected to return from injury

His calf injury has proven to be more problematic than anticipated, and the £12million defender has now missed the Magpies’ last eight games. And that will become nine, with Trippier not expected to be involved in Saturday’s trip to Burnley.

However, the hope is that he will be fit in time to face Brighton on May 11th. He is aiming to feature in Newcastle’s final three games of the season, as the club aim to qualify for Europe and possibly finish as high as fifth.

In the meantime, Trippier is stepping up his recovery efforts.

Trippier shares update on his trip to Dubai

He has travelled to Dubai with a fitness coach and physio, as he aims to get back on the pitch for Newcastle United.

Trippier has now shared an update on his trip to the Middle East, showcasing a selection of pictures of him training in the heat.

Alongside the pictures, he wrote: “So happy to be back on the grass training. Looking to be back really soon.”

In the pictures, Trippier has his shorts rolled up incredibly high – presumably because of the sweltering conditions.

But this fashion decision has been mocked by one of Trippier’s England teammates, Jack Grealish.

The Manchester City player commented: “@Johnstones5 tell him to pull his shorts down.”

Jack Grealish mocks another Newcastle United player

It is the second time in the space of a few days that Trippier has been mocked for what he is wearing. It happened after Newcastle’s 5-1 win over Sheffield United, with some players in the tunnel remarking on his decision to wear double denim.

Now it is his shorts, as Jack Grealish takes aim at another Newcastle United player.

While this is clearly a joke from Grealish, it was only a couple of years ago that he was having a pop at Miguel Almiron. He has since apologised for what he said about the Paraguayan, but still continues to feel the wrath of the Toon Army whenever he visits St James’ Park.

But while his Miggy dig was uncalled for, he is well within his rights to poke fun at Trippier’s shorts!
