Burnley star says Man City have someone who is better than Park Ji-sung

Burnley midfielder Josh Cullen has suggested that one Manchester City player is better than Park Ji-sun.

Between 2005 and 2012, the South Korean made 204 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions.

Across those appearances, the midfielder scored 28 goals, provided 30 assists and won numerous trophies including four Premier League titles and one Champions League.

Despite having a very successful period at Old Trafford, one current top-flight player has claimed that City now have someone in their squad that eclipses Park.

In a recent video shared on the Ireland national team’s TikTok channel, Cullen was tasked with blind-ranking 10 random past and present footballers.

After putting Park in ninth place, City defender Jokso Gvardiol came up, who Cullen ranked seventh.

A few months after he impressed for Croatia at the previous World Cup, Gvardiol made his move to the Manchester club in the last summer transfer window in a deal worth an overall fee of £77m.

Since then, the 22-year-old has made 37 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions, chipping in with three goals and two assists.

Across his 24 Premier League appearances, the defender has racked up a combined total of tackles and interceptions of 67, the second-highest in the City squad and above any other defender at the club.

Even though the Croatian is only at the start of his career in English football and still has a way to go to equal the number of trophies Park won at United, the fact that Cullen put Gvardiol above the former midfielder suggests that he may see the defender as a better player than the South Korean.

Despite the discrepancies when it comes to comparing a current defender and a former midfielder, we feel that if the City player can go on to win a similar number of titles during his time with the Citizens as Park did with the Red Devils, this would be the only concern for City supporters.
