Man Utd target who's been compared with Scholes now rules himself out of £30m move

Manchester United have just been dealt a blow in their pursuit of one player ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

For Manchester United, there is a lot of work to do this summer in order to bolster the squad ahead of the first season under Ineos‘ rule.

The positions that need strengthening whether the first-team or squad players is a list which is probably too long to address fully this summer.

One area that needs real attention is the midfield, as Kobbie Mainoo desperately needs a partner there.

While there are several good choices, one name who’d bolster the ranks significantly has now ruled himself out of a move.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall rules himself out of summer transfer

The Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is the player who has ruled himself out of a United move this summer.

The midfielder who’s compared himself to Paul Scholes was speaking after winning the Foxes’ Players Player of the Year award, as quoted by Owynn Palmer-Atkin.

“I’ve been at this club since I was 8 years old… I’ve got no intention of leaving”

The 25-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season in the Championship with his boyhood club, and it’s little surprise there’s so much interest in him.

For United, the desire to sign a player like Dewsbury-Hall could also increase given the current uncertainty surrounding Bruno Fernandes.

However, despite Dewsbury-Hall’s desire to remain, he’s still being linked with a move away for one key reason.

Why Dewsbury-Hall continues to be linked with Manchester United

Despite the player’s comments on staying, the Mail have reported that with a valuation of £30m, Dewsbury-Hall is the most likely to leave the King Power this summer to avoid PSR charges.

Due to the financial woes of Leicester, it could end up that he has little choice in the matter as his club needs the money.

Another way of looking at his comments is the view of what else could he say.

He was hardly going to state a desire to leave while winning a club reward. So if United emerged as an interested party, he could soon find himself tempted.
