Arsenal fans all think Arteta must now do one thing as Gabriel Jesus rumour emerges

Arsenal fans have now shared their thoughts on the latest rumour to have emerged about striker Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has endured a difficult season.

In another campaign that has been punctuated with fitness issues, the Brazilian has managed 24 Premier League outings, of which 17 have come as starts. He has managed just 4 top flight goals this season.

The former Manchester City man has never been the most prolific player, but even by his standards this is a poor return. Jesus has vowed to change his game in an effort to become more clinical, but given his age and track record, the chances of him improving vastly in this regard are incredibly slim.

Jesus is no longer Mikel Arteta’s first choice to pick to lead the line either. Kai Havertz has shone in recent months, and has now established himself as the Gunners’ first choice striker.

When Jesus has started in recent weeks it has tended to be on the left-flank. However, he sat out the North London derby entirely, remaining on the bench whilst Havertz dazzled against Tottenham Hotspur.

Are Arsenal set to sell Gabriel Jesus?

Arsenal have also been linked with a host of strikers, as it is an area of Arteta’s squad which is likely to be bolstered in the upcoming transfer window. The arrival of a new goalscorer, along with Havertz’s rise to prominence, could force Jesus out of Arteta’s plans completely.

According to The Athletic, the Gunners are open to offers on Jesus, and would not block his departure from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

There can be no denying his technical ability or commitment to the cause, but injuries have taken their toll on his body, his form has been shaky, and his goal return has been poor. Many Arsenal fans can now see the sense in cutting ties with the 27-year-old.

Arsenal fans react to latest Gabriel Jesus rumour

Upon hearing the news of Jesus’ potential departure, plenty of Arsenal supporters took to X to share their views on the matter.

One fan said “Let him be sold if a good offer comes along then we go for a clinical striker who can net 35-40 goals in a season.” Another stated “So long as they Pay more than 60m I am happy to let him leave.”

One supporter claimed “i’ve been begging for this to happen.”

One fan said “I really like the Jesus and his battling qualities, but his fitness record does worry me and we are possibly going a different route in terms of a number 9. It makes sense to cash in when he has a lot of value. It depends though on who we bring in because he will be a loss.”

Another chipped in with “Good decision as long we replace him properly, he hasn’t been the same since that knee injury at the world cup.”
