Fabrizio Romano shares if £45m Arsenal star will now leave after recent news this week

Fabrizio Romano has shared if one Arsenal star will now leave the club this summer after transfer news that broke earlier this week.

With the Premier League season coming to a close, attention will soon shift to the summer transfer window, where Arsenal are expected to spend big with some first-team players due to depart, such as Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah.

Yet one player who won’t be leaving is Jorginho, who despite links to Juventus is now set to sign a new contract after being offered fresh terms by Arsenal which will see the Italian international commit his future in north London.

And Romano has now cleared up what this news means for one £45m Arsenal player.

Thomas Partey’s future not linked to Jorginho signing new Arsenal deal

Writing for CaughtOffside, the Italian transfer journalist revealed that Jorginho signing a new contract will have nothing to do with Thomas Partey’s future, with the £45m midfielder also linked with a move away this summer.

Romano wrote: “Some fans have also asked me about how this deal might affect Thomas Partey’s future, but my understanding is that this is a separate topic, not linked to Jorginho, it will be discussed after the end of the season.”

With Jorginho committing his future to the club, it only makes sense that Partey’s future could now be in doubt at Arsenal, especially with transfer links now starting to emerge for the former Atletico Madrid star.

And if a tempting enough offer was to come in for Partey this summer, Arsenal would be within their right to let the midfielder leave, especially if it means Mikel Arteta can bring in a suitable replacement.

Selling Partey has to be a priority this summer for the Gunners

With Partey only now returning to full fitness, it’s clear once again that the midfielder simply doesn’t have what it takes to last a Premier League season for a team as demanding as Arsenal.

And with interest now there in the midfielder, Arsenal have to make selling Partey a priority this summer, with the 30-year-old a player who could bring in quite a good sum for the north London side.

With Arsenal also interested with some exciting midfielders, selling Partey will open up a spot in the squad for Arteta to work his transfer magic alongside Edu Gaspar, who should have a replacement in mind already.
