'Clear and trained today': Sean Dyche confirms £25m Everton player is fit to face Luton Town on Friday

Sean Dyche has shared the injury latest ahead of Everton’s Premier League clash against Luton Town on Friday evening at Kenilworth Road.

The Toffees head to Bedfordshire with the shackles off after securing their top-flight survival last weekend after beating Brentford 1-0 at Goodison Park.

A run of four wins in five matches means a relatively calm end-of-season is in store.

As for the Hatters, this is a must-win clash. Rob Edwards’ side sit one point adrift of Nottingham Forest and could jump out of the bottom three with a victory.

However, Luton are still waiting to hear the Premier League’s verdict on Forest’s points deduction. It remains to be seen whether the City Ground club will be docked further points or see their total grow.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Dyche was coy over Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fitness.

“We’ll see,” he said. “He was out on the grass today [Dominic Calvert-Lewin], so we are hopeful there will be no reaction. Therefore, he will certainly be in consideration.”

However, one piece of positive news centred around Beto. The Everton boss has confirmed the £25million striker is now clear to return to action.

Dyche added: “[On Tarkowski’s absence]His family are waiting on the birth of their child. Beto is clear and trained today.”

The work won’t stop for Sean Dyche and Everton

Dyche must use the upcoming fixtures as an opportunity to plan for next season.

For the first time in nearly two years, there’s very little riding on Everton’s end-of-season run-in. There’s an opportunity for the squad rotation and for players to stake a claim heading into the summer.

Furthermore, three wins would undoubtedly create a good feeling around the club heading into the off-season. And the Everton boss will be targeting Friday’s fixture as another chance to show what his side is really capable of.

Luton have put up a good fight this season but if the Toffees can maintain their recent good form, there’s an excellent chance for the Blues to make it five wins in six matches.
