In Germany, left-wing extremists set a fire in the country house of the head of the defense concern Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, as reported by Bild.

According to the agency, left-wing extremists set fire to Armin Papperger's country house in Hermannsburg commune, located in Lower Saxony.

"In the night from April 28 to 29, 2024, we set fire to Armin Papperger's country house on his property," the letter from left-wing extremists states.

According to them, Rheinmetall is one of the companies profiting from the critical moment. This is what German Chancellor Olaf Scholz calls Russia's war against Ukraine.

The extremists add that Rheinmetall accumulates old military equipment that can be sold to Ukraine along with ammunition to make huge profits.

"Rheinmetall plans, produces, and kills not only on a national scale," their message says.

German law enforcement officials have already started an investigation and are checking the authenticity of the letter.

Rheinmetall and assistance to Ukraine

The German company Rheinmetall is actively helping Ukraine to defend itself in the war against Russia. In particular, it has provided the Ukrainian military with a large amount of military equipment, including more than 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles.

Rheinmetall also provides the Ukrainian Armed Forces with 155-mm artillery shells, which are one of the main needs of Ukrainian army.

Rheinmetall plans to build four plants in Ukraine to manufacture and maintain the equipment.
