Anthropic introduces a free iPhone app and an enterprise offering

Anthropic is in focus this morning after introducing a free iPhone app as well as an enterprise offering to ramp up competition with OpenAI.

What we know about Anthropic’s new offering ‘Team’

The new business tier called “Team” required at least five users and costs $30 a month.

It was built on the back of feedback that Anthropic received from its existing customers and was beta-tested with up to fifty of them as well, said Daniela Amodei – cofounder of the AI startup in an interview with CNBC today.

The news arrives about a couple months after Anthropic unveiled the Claude 3 – its most powerful artificial intelligence chatbot to date as Invezz reported here.

Note that the company based out San Francisco, California is backed by Amazon.com Inc.

Anthropic may soon launch an Android app as well

Anthropic made its iOS app available for users across all plans for free on Wednesday.

The AI startup has also hired an Android engineer and is “actively working on the Android app” as well, Amodei added in her interview with CNBC today.

Anthropic, which is not yet a listed company, claims its Claude 3 Opus outperforms rivals including the GPT-4 (OpenAI) as well as Gemini Ultra (Google) on industry benchmarks.

It is worth mentioning here that generative artificial intelligence received a record $29.1 billion worth of investments across close to 700 deals in total in 2023. Still, Statista forecasts this field to continue growing at an exponential pace in the coming years.
