'What I'm hearing': Fabrizio Romano has just shared fresh Tosin Adarabioyo transfer update

In recent hours, speculation has emerged claiming Newcastle United seem to be closing in on a move for Tosin Adarabioyo.

The Northern Echo have reported that the Magpies have been in talks with the Fulham defender and his representatives for a number of weeks.

Those talks are said to have been fruitful, leading to Adarabioyo reportedly being offered a long-term deal at St James’ Park worth more than £100,000-a-week.

The outlet also claimed that Newcastle are ‘increasingly likely’ to sign the 26-year-old amid interest from the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham.

Fabrizio Romano has now taken to YouTube to share what he has heard about the speculation between the Magpies and Adarabioyo.

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Newcastle and Tosin Adarabioyo?

Romano began by reiterating that “Tosin is going to leave Fulham as a free agent.”

He said: “It’s over between Tosin and Fulham… they offered him a new contract weeks and months ago but no chance to extend. Tosin wants to try something different.

However, regarding the speculation suggesting it’s an all-but done deal between Newcastle and Adarabioyo, Romano said it’s not that advanced yet.

“Today we had reports of a done deal with Newcastle, what I’m hearing guys is that the race is still open for any club,” said Romano.

“Nothing is done signed or agreed with Newcastle. (They) have an interest in Tosin, he’s one of the players they have in their short list for sure… but at the moment it’s not something agreed.

“So the race is still open let’s see how Newcastle will move on free agents . For sure he’s a player they like he’s a player they have in the list but he’s not yet a done deal.”

Newcastle will fancy their chances of signing Tosin Adarabioyo

Although the likes of Romano and Ben Jacobs have poured cold water on speculation suggesting it’s a done deal, it certainly looks like Newcastle are in a good position regarding Adarabioyo.

Let’s see what happens in the coming days or weeks. Things certainly seem to be heading in the correct direction, and Adarabioyo would be a superb signing for the Magpies, and as a free transfer too.
