Join The 3rd Annual Ride Like MADD Florida Cycling Challenge

MADD Florida Cycling Challenge

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Florida is proud to announce the launch of its 3rd Annual Ride Like MADD statewide cycling challenge, scheduled to start on May 1st, 2024. Ride Like MADD is more than just a cycling challenge; it's a movement dedicated to ending impaired driving in Florida.

Did you know that 2 out of 3 people will be impacted by an impaired driver in their lifetime?

It's a sobering statistic that underscores the urgency of our mission. In Florida in 2022, there were 7,236 crashes involving a bike that resulted in 215 fatalities and 6,754 serious injuries.

Participants can ride any bike, at any location throughout Florida, and log their miles virtually. The event is designed to accommodate all ages and fitness levels, encouraging participants to set personal goals and compete in a friendly, impactful manner.

The first 39 miles are dedicated to acknowledging the victims of impaired driving, representing the statistic that one person is killed every 39 minutes by an impaired driver.

“With each pedal stroke in the Ride Like MADD event, participants are not only advocating for safer roads but also honoring the lives altered or lost due to these preventable tragedies. Our goal is to cultivate awareness and promote safe driving to ensure that cyclists and all road users can travel safely,” said Claudia Machado, Sr. Development and Community Engagement Manager, MADD Florida.
