‘Massively’: Matt O’Riley names three teammates who will ‘definitely’ help Celtic win the league

Celtic face Hearts this weekend as the title race enters the final four fixtures of the season.

Squeezing past Dundee at the weekend, Brendan Rodgers now has two home games that, if Celtic win them, will effectively tie up the league title.

Beating Hearts on Saturday and then Rangers the following weekend will take Celtic a minimum of six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership (assuming the Ibrox club avoid another slip-up) and barring a complete collapse, the league trophy will remain within the Parkhead boardroom.

But with Celtic struggling to capture the form that helped them romp to a treble last season, Matt O’Riley said there are three players at the club who will help ‘massively’ to get the title over the line.

The Danish international seemed relaxed and confident as he spoke about his nomination for the PFA Player of the Year Award this week.

And when asked about Celtic’s chances of winning the league, O’Riley pointed to the experience Celtic have in the dressing room that will help crown the club champions.

O’Riley said [Sky Sports], “Yeah, I think it helps helps massively. We’ve obviously got some really experienced boys in the team as well.

“Especially people like James Forrest, Callum McGregor, Joe Hart, these kinds of guys and when you got those kind of guys and you change them definitely helps massively.”

James Forrest has certainly lit up Celtic at the business end of the season. His two goals against Dundee at the weekend followed up his brilliant Scottish Cup appearance against Aberdeen at Hampden.

Joe Hart has consistently been excellent this season as some of the saves he has pulled off have been at vital points in games where Celtic could have either surrendered a lead or gone behind.

The veteran goalkeeper is retiring at the end of the season and will be desperate to end his career on a high note.

And as for Callum McGregor, the Celtic captain has been there and done it all before. With eight league titles already to his name, McGregor is a born winner and has the mentality to drag this team over the finishing line.
