Former President Donald Trump confirmed again Wednesday that he told the U.S. Secret Service he wanted to join the rioters on Jan. 6, 2021.

Trump made the remarks during a rally in Waukesha after he recalled House Jan. 6 Committee testimony that suggested he tried to force Secret Service agents to join the mob.

"I sat in the back," he recalled. "And you know what I did say? I said, I'd like to go down there, because I see a lot of people walking down."

"They said, sir, it's better if you don't," Trump remarked. "I said, well, I'd like to."

"It's better if you don't," the agent said, according to the story.

"All right, whatever you guys think is fine," Trump remembered saying.

A clip of Trump's speech went viral on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter).

It's not the first time Trump has confirmed that he intended to join the rioters at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

“Secret Service wouldn’t let me,” he explained to The Washington Post in 2022. “I wanted to go. I wanted to go so badly. Secret Service says you can’t go. I would have gone there in a minute.”

Trump insiders, however, insisted that the then-president was "joking," the Post reported.

The Republican's campaign has repeatedly said former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson falsely testified that Trump tried to join the rioters.
