Saudi Arabian club now want Tottenham favourite after targeting Richarlison

Tottenham Hotspur will be eyeing attacking additions this summer but that may involve some players being moved on.

Ange Postecoglou is a manager who wants to attack, attack and attack some more.

Quality forwards is a necessity for the Australian and we have seen him bring in three players in the final third.

Manor Solomon came in on from Shakhtar Donetsk but has barely featured this season due to injury problems.

Brennan Johnson arrived from Nottingham Forest and has shown promising signs, developing his game over the course of the season.

Then there is Timo Werner, who came in on loan from RB Leipzig and has mostly played as a left winger under Postecoglou.

Spurs must make a decision on whether to purchase Werner for around £15million, but he has just picked up a season-ending injury.

Son Heung-min wanted in Saudi Arabia

It’s unclear what the future holds for Werner and even Solomon after an injury-hit season but one player we didn’t expect to be involved in the transfer rumour mill is Son Heung-min.

A modern day Tottenham icon, Son has now spent nearly nine years at Tottenham.

The numbers are just staggering; 403 games, 161 goals and 83 assists in a Tottenham shirt.

Son will go down as a Spurs legend but he turns 32 this summer and with a contract option triggered, he will be in the final two years of his contract this summer.

Reporter Rudy Galetti now claims that Son is attracting major interest this summer with Al-Ittihad keen on a deal.

The Saudi Arabian side still want Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah but are viewing Son as an ‘important’ potential alternative.

Tottenham would then be faced with a tricky decision; sell a fan favourite or potentially turn down big money for a player whose value may only diminish in the coming years.

Al-Ittihad wanted Richarlison

Al-Ittihad seem determined to land a big Premier League attacker.

Salah remains the top target but they have actually sniffed around another Tottenham forward in recent times.

The Saudi Arabian side reportedly wanted to sign Richarlison after missing out on Salah last summer.

Speculation in March suggested that Richarlison is set to be a target for Saudi Pro League clubs once again this summer.

Tottenham may prefer to cash in on Richarlison than Son, but much may depend on whether Liverpool are willing to part with Salah.

Richarlison hasn’t quite lived up to the price tag after his 2022 move from Everton and whilst he has battled back brilliantly this season, a fresh start may appeal.

Tottenham certainly need to have attacking targets in mind for this summer, just in case Richarlison, Son or anybody else moves on.
