'We will go our separate ways': CL club's CEO says their manager is definitely leaving, amid Man United links

Manchester United have endured a difficult season and there could be a lot of changes this summer.

The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and will no longer be able to make the top four this term.

Europa League remains a possibility through either the league or by winning the FA Cup, but it’s by no means a certainty.

The future of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is now uncertain in wake of his team’s regression in the league this term.

The Red Devils boss has come under a lot of criticism over the last few months, and there is a chance he could be sacked at the end of this season.

In the coming months, Manchester United could potentially move for the manager of a club that is in Champions League semi-finals this season.

ESPN recently claimed that Bayern Munich’s Thomas Tuchel has support from people in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s camp.

Representatives are looking to be kept informed on the situation of the 50-year-old, who is said to be open to talks with Manchester United.

What has been said about Manchester United target Thomas Tuchel?

Although it has been known for a while that Tuchel is set to leave at the end of the season, some have wondered whether Bayern may reconsider in wake of their run to the Champions League’s final four.

However, chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has ruled out the possibility of Tuchel staying beyond this season, even if they end up winning the Champions League.

Tuchel’s departure from Bayern at the end of the season was announced in February.

However, as per Sky Sports, some Bayern fans have recently petitioned for the former Chelsea manager to stay on.

Despite this, Dreesen has made it clear that Tuchel is definitely leaving the Allianz Arena in the summer.

Asked if there is any possibility of Tuchel and Bayern reversing on their stance, Dreesen said: “No.

“You have to judge the decision at the time it was made. It was a different situation.

“Now we have another situation – our clear goal is to reach the final and then hopefully win the Champions League.

“We would all be happy together and then we will go our separate ways.”

Thomas Tuchel would have opportunity to prove Chelsea wrong if he joins Manchester United

Considering Tuchel’s time at Stamford Bridge didn’t end on the highest of notes, he may well feel he has something to prove in the Premier League.

And taking the job at Manchester United, one of Chelsea’s rivals over the years, would give Tuchel the chance to show the Blues they made a mistake in letting him go.
