Troy Deeney has theory on what happened in Liverpool dressing room after Mohamed Salah incident

Troy Deeney has revealed a theory about what happened inside the Liverpool dressing room after Mohamed Salah’s disagreement with Jurgen Klopp last weekend.

It was an ugly scene last Saturday. Things have not been going Liverpool’s way for a while now. A lot of frustration has been building up around the club.

But to see it all exploded between Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah so publicly on the touchline against West Ham United, was a difficult watch.

Both men are legends in Liverpool’s history. They have given so much to the club and have spoken of each other so highly.

This is not the way they both want to say their farewells to each other before Klopp departs from Anfield.

Troy Deeney on his theory about what happened inside the Liverpool dressing room after Mohamed Salah incident

It’s not clear why exactly Salah lashed out at Klopp in the way that he did. But what was clear is that there was tension between the two of them.

It was also obvious they made the other players and coaching staff uncomfortable around them. You could tell from the way Darwin Nunez pulled Salah away that he and Joe Gomez waiting on the sideline were not entirely comfortable with what was going on.

Speaking on the Up Front podcast, Troy Deeney has shared his view on what might have happened after the incident in the Liverpool dressing room.

“That says to me that didn’t go the way he wanted it to in the dressing room,” Deeney said.

“That’s what it says to me. I had a situation like that with Walter Mazzarri, when he dropped me at Spurs, I came on for 10 minutes at 4-0 down. He dropped me the morning of the game, I had scored the game before, and then he brought me on with 10 minutes to go.

“Then I was walking through the mixed zone and they said Troy do you want to have a word, probably not the best time, so I carried on walking and that got blown up into something.

“What it says to me is that they had a conversation in the dressing room and I think it will be more the boss telling him that he has to keep his mouth shut, or the lads have said shut your mouth before you go out, and that’s his moment to have his little say that I am not too happy with this. That’s how I perceive that, it doesn’t look good.”

What next for Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp?

The two of them are both professionals and respect each other highly. You will have to assume they will have quashed whatever it was that they disagreed between them.

Everyone at the club will be desperate for Klopp to have a big send off and to enjoy his last few games in charge in what has been a sombre end to the season.

For Salah, it will also be an opportunity to showcase his talent and improve his current form, which has been lacking in recent weeks.
