Report: Tottenham are keen to sign £33m PL midfielder who's even faster than Adama Traore

Tottenham Hotspur are now interested in signing an Everton player this summer.

Spurs are still battling it out for a place in the top four of the Premier League, but getting there will not be easy.

There’s still a considerable gap between Tottenham and the top teams in the country, and Ange Postecoglou will want that to be closed as quickly as possible.

The North Londoners are expected to be very active in the upcoming summer transfer window.

They need reinforcements in multiple areas of the squad, and a new midfielder is expected to be high up on their agenda.

Now, Tottenham boss Postecoglou is said to be considering a move to sign an Everton player.

Tottenham eye move for Everton’s Amadou Onana after Conor Gallagher update emerges

Tottenham have been on the lookout for a new central midfielder for about a year now.

Conor Gallagher has been Ange Postecoglou’s preferred option since last summer’s transfer window, and he is still on Spurs’ radar.

However, reports revealed yesterday that Chelsea are still demanding £50 million to let the England midfielder leave this summer.

If Tottenham can’t get the Blues to lower their asking price, they are expected to look elsewhere, and The Telegraph claim that Everton’s Amadou Onana is being considered.

The Belgium international joined the Toffees from Lille almost two years ago for £33 million (BBC). He has impressed everyone and has constantly been linked with a move to big clubs.

Tottenham are looking at Onana, and we think he would be a terrific addition to Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The Belgian isn’t just strong and good on the ball, he’s absolutely rapid too. His top speed in the Premier League this season is 36.65 kmph (Squawka), which is higher than Adama Traore‘s highest-clocked pace of 36.60 kmph (SpeedsDB).

Amadou Onana could be cheaper than Conor Gallagher

Just a few months ago, Amadou Onana’s stock was higher than it had ever been before.

The Belgian was a regular at Everton, and his performances had caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

Reports revealed that both Arsenal and Manchester United tabled bids for Onana in February, but Everton demanded £51 million for their star midfielder then.

Now, TBR Football understands that Onana’s stock has dropped in recent weeks after starting just one of Everton’s last five games in the Premier League.

If Onana is available for a cheaper fee than the £50 million Chelsea want for Gallagher, we think it’s a no-brainer for Tottenham to make a move to sign him this summer.
