Newbury Town Council’s Victoria Park Family Day returns this month

Newbury Town Council’s popular annual Victoria Park Family Day returns on Sunday, May 19 from 12pm to 4pm.

There will be entertainment for all ages including traditional Punch and Judy shows and performances on the bandstand from the Ragtime Theatre School, Watership Brass and local musician Bruce Hogg.

There will also be a climbing wall and a mobile caving adventure free of charge for everyone to try throughout the afternoon and Kennet Radio will be broadcasting live from the event.

Attendees will also be able to explore a fire engine and police car too.

Council leader Gary Norman said: “We are delighted to welcome back families to Victoria Park for a day of fun-filled activities and laughter in a safe and enjoyable environment.

“With our brand-new outdoor fitness equipment and the refurbishment of our beloved bandstand, we are so proud of our beautiful town centre park.

“The tennis courts and splash park will also have had a makeover ready for summer 2024.”

Coaches will be running free tennis and rugby sessions, with the rugby ones aimed at two to seven-year-olds.

The skate park will be open to everyone as well as the park’s new outdoor gym.
