Driver rescued after blood donation van crash in Canterbury city centre

Emergency services have been scrambled after a blood donation van crashed and flipped onto its side.

Police, fire and ambulance crews descended on Military Road in Canterbury following the one-vehicle accident.

Emergency services were called to Military Road in Canterbury where an NHS van overturned

Crews freed one individual and passed them into the care of medics.

A fire and rescue spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 10.03am today (2 May) to assist SECAmb in Military Road, Canterbury, following reports of a crash involving one vehicle.

“Three fire engines attended, and crews released one person from the van, who was passed into the care of paramedics”

Police and ambulance service have been contacted for comment.
