Pundit says ‘tricky’ Wolves duo could be a big problem for Man City this weekend

Andy Morrison has claimed that two particular Wolves players could be problematic for Manchester City this weekend.

After seeing off Nottingham Forest away from home in their previous Premier League outing with a 2-0 scoreline, the Blues are back on home turf this weekend as they face off against Wolves in their latest attempt to take a step closer to potentially winning another title.

Ahead of this game, one pundit and former City player has shared his thoughts on how this latest contest could pan out, highlighting two players from Wolves that he feels could cause trouble for the Blues.

Featuring in the May issue of the City Magazine, Morrison had this to say about the Manchester club’s upcoming match against Wolves and the two players that could prove to be tough opponents for City.

He said: “Wolves have been good this season and but for injuries, I think they would have finished in the top eight.

“They beat us 2-1 at their place and if [Matheus] Cunha and [Pedro] Neto are back, this could be a tricky game, but I see us eventually grinding them down and winning by a couple of goals. City 3-1 Wolves.”

City will have to be wary of dangerous Wolves duo

In 29 league games this season, Cunha has scored 11 goals and delivered seven assists, whereas Neto has found the back of the net on just two occasions but provided nine assists in 19 matches.

With the Brazilian having more shots at goal (67) in the league this season than any other Wolves player, Neto has made more crosses into the penalty area (12) than anyone else in Gary O’Neil’s squad.

In addition to that, the duo have made more carries into the penalty area (Neto 42, Cunha 34) than any of their teammates.

Taking all of that on board, it’s clear why Morrison thinks Cunha and Neto could cause some problems for City on Saturday if they find themselves in the starting XI.

Therefore, we feel that Pep Guardiola’s side will have to make sure they get as little time on the ball as possible so they don’t end up constantly testing the home side’s defence.
