Jill Zarin defends Below Deck episode

RHONY’s Jill Zarin felt her Below Deck episode “wasn’t so bad” despite the backlash she received. She blamed her “crankiness” on the idea she was starving and claimed she was trying to give people advice.

She told Jeff Lewis on SiriusXM, “I have to be honest, what they say I was the worst guest in the world for is absolutely ridiculous because everything I said was a teaching moment for them.”

The Bravo star felt she gave suggestions in a “nice and loving way” and said, “If you were to ask them off the boat when they go onto their next boat, there’s a way to communicate with the crew.”

She ‘should never have’ attended trip

Jill regrets ever going on the Below Deck trip with her friends, which included primary charter guest, Melinda. “I should never have gone, obviously,” the former housewife stated.

She added, “The chef was, soon after, fired because he wasn’t up to serving that kind of a group, so we didn’t eat. If I was a little cranky, it could be because I was starving, and I kept on asking for an apple.”

Jill claims nobody gave her any fruit, and having complained there weren’t toiletries in the bathroom, says she was told producers took them off the boat because they didn’t want to promote the brands.

The guest admits she’s “sarcastic and not perfect and says things that are stupid” but adds what she says is “never mean”. Even Below Deck Fraser Olender text her to say he “felt so bad” about the backlash.

RHONY star reveals trip cost

Jill revealed the two-night stay – including five meals – cost a heft $45,000 and was charged to the primary charter. She paid for a hotel and to make her own way there, despite being called a “freeloader”.

The RHONY star said “they already take money out of you pre-tip and then you can take money out of it,” to which she claimed they added another $6,000 to the tip, “which, in hindsight, was stupid”.

Jill went on to add they gave a $10,000-a-day tip for eight people, calculating that it came to $2,000 per person, per day, per meal, even though they did not eat two meals as “lunch was a disaster”.
