‘Over the years’: Jack Grealish says Man City have done something completely ‘unbelievable’

Jack Grealish has said that Manchester City have been able to do something that some of the best Premier League sides have not been able to do.

The winger is currently nearing the end of his third season at the Manchester club, which could see the Blues add another Premier League title and FA Cup to their cabinet this month.

Despite having a crucial few games ahead of them, one key figure in Pep Guardiola’s side has been reflecting on what the Blues have achieved previously and highlighted one factor that has led to their success.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Grealish had this to say on the matter.

He said: “I’ve said in a lot of interviews that, for me, the team I’m in now – and especially last year – it’s just unbelievable, the togetherness we have.

“Over the years, there have been so many top teams in the Premier League that haven’t done what we’ve done.

“Even City’s team in 2018/19, with David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne and Man United’s team in 2008/09, with Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez – none of these teams won the Treble.

“That says something about our team because you can have all of the talent in the world, but you need to have the other side of it as well, like that togetherness of the pitch.

“That’s something we had so much of and we’ve got it this season as well. With the experience we have and the quality we have, we don’t really doubt ourselves.

“I feel like everyone knows how hard it is to win a Treble. We did it last year and it was one of the best feelings I’ve ever had in football, especially having played such a big part in it.”

Jack Grealish was a key figure in City’s Treble-winning season

Looking back to last season, the Blues won their third Premier League title in a row, which was then followed by them beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final and Inter Milan to secure the club’s first Champions League trophy.

In terms of Grealish’s involvement in City’s Treble-winning campaign, he started 41 of the 50 games he appeared in across all competitions, scoring five goals and delivering 11 assists in the process.

Now that the Englishman has claimed that the togetherness and harmony in the City squad was a big factor in seeing the team win their historic Treble, when other top Premier League sides from previous years couldn’t do so apart from Manchester United in 1999, this showcases how important it is for a squad to have a strong relationship with each other.
