Oregon State transfer Donovyn Hunterhas announced her commitment to the TCU Horned Frogs.

The 6-0 freshman entered the transfer portal shortly after the 2023-24 season concluded and the Beavers went on an Elite Eight run. Due to conference realignment, Oregon State is moving into the West Coast Conference next season. Because of the move, several Beavers sought a new destination, including stars Raegan Beerswho committed to Oklahomaand Talia von Oelhoffenwho is headed to USC.

Hunter started in 34 of 35 games as a freshman and averaged 6.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists last season on 42% shooting from the floor and 33% from beyond the arc. She was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team and was an honorable mention for the all-defensive team.

She was a four-star recruit in 2023 hailing from Medford, Oregon, and originally chose to stay near home with the Beavers. She’ll head south now to join a revamped TCU roster that is eyeing a Top 25 preseason ranking.

The Horned Frogs have had a stellar offseason after landing LSUtransfer Hailey van Lith, Kentucky transfer Maddie Scherrand USC transfer Taylor Bigby. van Lith averaged 11.6 points and 3.6 assists per game last season, Scherr averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists and Bigby averaged 4.8 points per game as a sophomore.

TCU also returns star 6-7 center Sedona Prince next season, who averaged 19.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game last year. The Horned Frogs started off last season unbeaten heading into January, but injuries caused TCU to struggle during conference play.

Adding these four transfers will aid the team in having both star power and depth for the 2024-25 season – and Hunter still has three years of eligibility remaining.
